Geist da ist; es gab noch kein Altes, kein Jetziges; keinen Anfang, kein Ende; es gab noch keinen Sohn und Enkel; konnte es da einen Sohn und Enkel geben? Yen-khiea antwortete noch nicht und Confucius erwiderte auch nicht. Entsteht nicht aus dem Leben der Tod; durch den Tod todtet man da nicht das Leben Tod und Leben hat man doch zu erwarten (tai). Alle bilden ein Glied, es gab vor dem Entstehen von Himmel und Erde Dinge (voe), die Substanz waren Dinge und nicht-dinge (fei voe). Dinge gehen hervor, aber nicht vor den Dingen und wie es Dinge gab, endete nicht des heiligen Mannes Liebe Zu den Menschen und bis ans Ende wird sie nicht aufhoren, das entnimmt man daraus.
