Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Confirmation in the Apostolic Age
In working at the subject and in putting my notes in order for publication I have avoided consulting any of the many books on Confirmation, nor have I passed beyond the limits of the New Testament. The conclusions as to the teaching Of the New Testament, which I have thus reached independently of others, are, I believe, strongly confirmed by the fact that in the belief of the Church of the first centuries the gift given to the true disciple in Confirmation is the gift of the Holy Spirit.
