Publisher's Synopsis
I had thought that after losing my loved ones and burying them with my own hands, my stray dog-like future was clear until I saw those two giraffes at the pier - they were from far away Africa and had miraculously survived the hurricane as they drifted across the ocean. Will there be miracles in my life too? The destination to which the giraffes would be traveling by truck was in California, the place where milk and honey flowed and one could live like a king. Whether or not my destiny would change depended on this one chance, and it was definitely not to be missed. All I could think was: where the giraffe goes, I go. This is a novel inspired by true events. Following this miraculous journey, one can see that under the gaze of the giraffe's big apple-brown eyes, and in the midst of spending time with the two giants, the stubborn clouds, bitter past, and deep-seated secrets inside are all quietly changing. Looking back years later, this miraculous journey is actually a process of a boy experiencing metamorphosis, facing up to his wounds and finding himself.
