Publisher's Synopsis
This book contains papers presented at an International Research Seminar held in London in April 1986 at which the objectives were to share the common problems of research methods and related techniques, evaluate existing research, and consider the future needs and directions of research into computer assisted learning (CAL). The six themes developed are: strategies for CAL; curriculum development; teaching strategies; children learning; developing software and handling data. The contributors are all active researchers associated with research organizations or higher education institutions from across the world. The emphasis of the volume is on research into CAL at primary and secondary levels, and the curriculum areas represented are history, geography, economics, business studies, social studies and political education.
