Since introduction of that legislation in 1991, Senator Metzen baum and I have held a series of hearings and received testimony and comments from many witnesses, from plant workers and former osha administrators to employer safety representatives and public health experts.
During most of those years, our efforts to address these serious problems were hampered by a lack of interest on the part of the previous administration.
