A whole section is devoted to the pathogenesis and clinical diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma with the help of serum tests and imaging techniques, as well as to surgical, interventional and medical therapies. Furthermore, innovative preventive approaches and an outlook on gene therapy are presented by the interdisciplinary panel of hepatogastroenterologists, radiologists, surgeons and scientists present at the workshop.
