Ertrand. M. Le docteur Bertrand m�decin militaire, a r�sid� � Laghouat de 1857 � 1858. Ses fonctions medicales ne lui ont pas permis de s'�loigner beaucoup de la ville, mais nous lui devons la communication de plusieurs esp�ces int�ressantes observ�es par lui - � Bas - el - Ai'oun. L'iniportant'e s�rie d'observations barom�triques qu'il a prises en 1858 nous a �t� pr�cieuse pour la d�termination de l'altitude d�'laghouat, et nous a fourni un utile point de rep�re pour le calcul des altitudes de nos stations dans le Sud.
