Publisher's Synopsis
The new Securities Law of the People's Republic of China came into effect on 1 July 1999 after six years of vigorous debate. Securities Law and Regulation in China provides an overview and critical assessment of this law eighteen months on. In considering the rationale for this law, and in discussing the implications of it, the authors have drawn upon a range of international legal sources. Their analysis is further supplemented by an official translation of the new law.
