Publisher's Synopsis
A new edition of the Penguin Collectors Society's standard reference guide to Penguin Books, now with nearly 800 entries and around 300 illustrations. It is both an introductory history of Penguin and a guide to the secondary published material about the company, its people, and its books. Some of Penguin's recorded history has come from Penguin itself and other publishers; much has come from the many books and articles published by the Society itself; and writers in academic and other journals have also contributed to the body of knowledge.
