Publisher's Synopsis
The European Commission has proposed common standards for a universal postal service to be available to all customers in the Community. It has also proposed setting limits on the area that may be reserved to the operators providing that universal service. In this enquiry the Committee examines these proposals and considers the views of a range of interested parties in the UK. They also look at the experiences of the national post offices of France, the Netherlands, Sweden and New Zealand.
