AS regards the United Kingdom itself, a development which may be of great importance to British industry is the considered recommendation of the Import Duties Advisory Committee to continue for the present the temporary duty of 3312; per cent ad valorem on certain classes of heavy iron and steel which came into force on April 26 last, to be valid for three months only.
