Ben Harmond has always wanted to be a stand up comedian, despite the fact that he's never been that funny. Each week, he grinds it out at local open mics, thinking he's the funniest guy in the room. This all changes when a beautiful woman named Trish Gibson shows up at one of his clubs, except she's not there to watch him---she's there to perform. Sweeping the room into tears with her quick wit and unique insights, Ben is both infatuated and infuriated with her talent.
