The purpose of this book is to present morphologic descriptions of both neoplastic and non-neoplastic spontaneous and selected induced lesions in mice to interested investigators. Classification of neoplastic and non-neoplastic lesions of mice is dependent on available information on the specific lesions; this includes morphologic, histochemical, immunocytochemical, ultrastructural and biologic information. Classification may also vary with one's experience and personal bias. In this book, classifications are based on information currently available on the biology, morphology and histochemistry of murine tumors. The atlas is divided into the following systems: cardiovascular, digestive, pulmonary, endocrine, male genital, female genital, urinary, haematopoietic, integumentary, musculoskeletal, central nervous, and eye and adnexal glands. Non-neoplastic lesions within each system are illustrated first, followed by neoplastic lesions. The extensive references are divided into a general section on mouse pathology followed by a section on specific references used in the atlas. The atlas contains over three hundred colour photomicrographs.
