Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from College of Physicians and Surgeons, Baltimore, MD: Annual Announcement and Catalogue, 1900-1901; 29th Annual Session
This school was organized and incorporated under the general laws of the State of Maryland in 1872. The Washington University School of Medicine was established in 1827. In 1878, by Act of the Legislature, these two schools were consolidated under the name of College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Since the close of last session, important accessions have been made to the corps of teachers. The former occupant Of the chair of Obstetrics, at his own option, has been transferred to Hygiene and Clinical Medicine, and the vacancy created has been filled by a thoroughly equipped and experienced teacher in this important branch of medicine, formerly connected with The Johns Hopkins University.
The number of fine Clinic rooms and lecture halls in the new College Building greatly facilitates the practical work. Additional instructors and demonstrators have been appointed in the depart ments of Anatomy, Clinical Medicine, Microscopy and Pathology.
