Sir: I have the honor to transmit for publication a report on the coals of the region drained by the Quicksand creeks in Breathitt, Floyd and Knott counties, Within the valley of the North Fork of the Kentucky River. The re port has been ready for the printer since December 1910. The maps were drawn by J. W. Norwood.
