Protestant Church has felt the force of these adverse circum stances, yet, considering all things, she has held her own remarkably well, and had she chosen to do so she could have remained in her old home and lived and prospered there for some years. Nevertheless the handwriting was on the wall, and no prophet was needed to understand its meaning. To sell or lease the property on Fifth avenue and build else where were events bound to come before many years. Such was the View of the situation taken by most of those who had seriously considered the matter.
