In the series, "Clinical Approaches to Violence", the contributors focus on the specific areas within their specialist fields: the empirical research, the theories built around the data, and the practical application, both in terms of assessment and intervention, of this research and theory.;The topic for this second volume in the series is sex offences because the topic has seen a recent rapid development, both in terms of public interest and involvement.;In response to this growing awareness, researchers and practitioners from a range of professions, theoretical persuasions, and schools of clinical practice have become involved in working with sex offenders and their victims.;The contributors to this volume are from a range of disciplines - including psychiatry, psychology, and social work - bringing a range of theoretical views and styles of clinical practice, in order to offer a book which would inform clinicians and researchers about offenders and victims.;As the research base grows, so the number of specialist papers and books increases.
