Publisher's Synopsis
With increasingly stringent demands being placed upon UK industry to reduce its impact on the environment, the best long term solution may be to redesign industrial processes so that they are inherently less polluting. This study identifies the most significant environmental problems faced by industry and looks into work already undertaken as well as areas of cleaner technology with potential for development. Chemicals, agrochemicals, metal manufacture, metal finishing, electrical and electronic engineering, textiles, man-made fibre production, leather, paper and printing, non-metallic mineral products, food processing and waste incineration are all considered.
