This book on Civilization takes the reader through a "tour de force" from the ancient civilizations in Mesopotamia, Egypt and the Indus Valley, and proceeds via ancient Greece and Rome to European Medieval times and into Euro-American modernity. Various aspects of Civilization vs. Barbarism are discussed from a Libertarian and Ecological perspective, and a vast amount of ancient as well as modern historians, philosophers and anthropologists are referred to in this treatment of the Economic Basis, Historical Lessons and Future Prospects of Civilization as such on Planet Earth. No "Blueprint" solutions are suggested -- however, certain hints at what may be done to restore and retain Ecosystems as well as civilized ways of Human conduct and Organization are presented to the general reader as well as students in the above mentioned academic subjects.
