In presenting the Second Edition of this work to the public, I feel that a slight apology is due.
I have altered the title of my work, and I have taken out a whole chapter.
But my reasons for this procedure are as follows: I con sidered that the former title, Clergyman's Sore Throat, was too exclusive. The kind of Sore Throat from which Clergymen are liable to suffer is, after all, the physiological inheritance of members of the laity. Therefore I gave my book a fresh title.
