Publisher's Synopsis
Chronic bronchitis represents one of the most common diseases of the airways. Its importance from the clinical, epidemiological and social points of view is often underestimated. This volume investigates a wide scope of topics, ranging from prevention to actual treatment with drugs, and exercise training to rehabilitation. Although the management of chronic bronchitis has in fact changed little over the past decade, new evidence is presented from international experts about the most relevant problems to be expected in the 1990s. Several points of view are also discussed regarding a common terminology for different forms of chronic airway inflammation to establish general guidelines for therapy.
