In fact, these two systems of Astrology are so different that there is no comparison or correlation between them. Chinese Astrology is based on the study of the stars, but it is a different group of stars altogether. Of importance is the star Tzu Wei or the Pole Star and the constellations which are closely associated with it. Created with this system is a cycle and the twelve animals which represent each cycle. Unlike Western Astrology which is based on the apparent movement of the Sun through the Zodiac, Chinese Astrology focuses on a Lunar Calendar.
