This is a newly-transcribed edition of W G D Fletcher's book on the history of Loughborough, first published as articles in 'The Loughborough Herald and North Leicestershire Gazette' and 'The Reliquary and Illustrated Archaeologist' in the 1870s before being collected into book-form in 1883. Annotations by Leicestershire Tour Guide Alison Mott help the modern reader understand the old-fashioned language of the text and update Reverend Fletcher's original research. A biography of the remarkable man who wrote 'Chapters in the History of Loughborough' is included in the postcript.
