Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Changes in the Industrial Occupations of Women in the Environment of Montreal During the Period of the War, 1914-1918
The scholarships were offered in the belief that the careful, sympathetic and trained investigation of women's work by women graduates is one of the most effective methods by which the economic and indus trial well-being of women may be secured. The data collected and presented will lead, it is believed, to further study and a clearer understanding of women's employments. We have learned during the past five years some part of what may be achieved in the in creased volume of industrial output by unity of pur pose and effort. Learning to understand each other's work and working conditions is even more essential to progress. It is for this reason specially that Miss Price's thesis is commended to Canadian women, and to those in particular who are university graduates.
