From an examination of the chart on the Opposite page, and from the figures presented in the succeeding pages, it appears that average prices of most articles comprising the family budget had continued to rise since the previous study in July, 1919. Moreover, the Opinion was general among those entitled to speak With authority, that for some items, particularly rents and retail prices of clothing and certain sundries, the highest points had not yet been reached.
