Publisher's Synopsis
The gales of October 1987 made this third volume an unfortunate necessity. A disproportionate number of champions of rare species, particularly broadleaves, were in the Kent and Sussex gardens which suffered the worst storm losses. Therefore this volume contains many updated figures.;Species have been included down to a considerable degree of rarity. The opportunity has been taken to give more precedence to diameters at the standard 1.5m, as well as to include a number of species and cultivars for the first time.
