Publisher's Synopsis
The International Endotoxin Society (IES) was founded in 1987. The major aim was to: promote endotoxin (ET) research; provide an open forum for the exchange of ideas, results and experiences; and reach and invite everybody interested in this field to participate in the activities of the Society. It was also decided that these Proceedings would be published under the title of "Endotoxin Research Series", which is intended to summarise the latest developments, every second year, by the publication of a new volume. The First Congreess of the IES was held in San Diego, California on May 9-12 1990, and this volume is the first of the series.
