Excerpt from Catalogue of the Hudson's Bay Company's Historical Exhibit at Winnipeg, 1922
It will be apparent to visitors that the Exhibit in its present form does not fully achieve the object set forth above. In some instances there are no articles applying to features that are an essential part of the object as defined; in almost every division of the museum a part only of the articles available are displayed, because of extreme limitation of space in the present quarters.
This historical exhibit as seen to-day, therefore, must be regarded only as a beginning - a framework, an outline, a skeletonized presentation with many details to be filled in and some units to be expanded before the ultimate object may be realized.
It is the aim of the Exhibit eventually to develop from its present temporary and tabloid form into a permanent exhibition in much larger quarters, fulfilling all the requirements of the defined object.
