Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Catalogue of a Loan Exhibition of Book-Plates and Super-Libros: Held by the Club of Odd Volumes, at the Museum of Fine Arts, April 25th to June 5th, 1898
The exhibit of present day plates, made by American artists, is very encouraging. Delightful examples of engraving on copper, of etching, of wood-cutting, and of black and white design, reproduced by photo-mechanical processes are numerous. This part Of the exhibition is worthy of careful study, and the assemblage of so many examples of so many artists' work, should tend to increase the interest in artistic book-plates very perceptibly.
