The Oxford Collection of Italian Terra-Sigillata or Arretine ware although hither-to largely unpublished is one of the two largest and most representative in the country. It includes a large number if fragments, vases, and moulds of high intrinsic quality. The relief decoration ranges from the finest work in the full workshops at Arezzo, to the degenerate Late Italian ware. Each piece is fully described and illustrated with commentary on the development of the ware.
