Publisher's Synopsis
This story follows the life of an Afro Caribbean British woman, Fuschia George, aged 33 who experiences a number of hardships. These are particularly linked to her family as well as her own relationship choices. Fuschia seeks acceptance and love from people who are torn between forging their own identities and conforming to their expected familial traditions. The story is set in and around the fictional area of Union Street in East London. Here, Fuschia's challenges are lightened by her flawed yet lovable family members and local characters whose humorous shenanigans and kind-heartedness enable Fuschia to accept herself and embrace life with open arms.
