Carico Trails is part cowboy story, part love story, a little bit science fiction and all about personal struggle. Seth's footloose life as a horse trainer takes an abrupt turn when he falls for the new girl in town. They are targeted by a bitter, vengeful man with a torture device outlawed on every planet in the Coalition. The aftermath of his attack sets them out on a journey into the wilds of the frontier planet to heal. There they face rugged terrain, bad weather and a horse nearly as traumatized as they are. But their love and Seth's connection with the horse prove to have limits. They both must learn to ask for help before they can regain what they lost and confront their attacker.
