It is an illness that is difficult and complex to manage as well as emotionally and financially draining. "Cancer Patients and Their Families" is a collection of reprinted articles that provides heartening evidence that behavioural and psychosocial interventions play a critical role in reducing emotional stress, enhancing coping, improving adjustment and improving treatment outcomes for cancer patients.;The articles reflect the increased interest in behavioural, psychological and social factors in cancer prevention and treatment, with the goal of improving the quality of life of patients with cancer at all stages through counselling and educational programmes.
