Beyond these Coronation claims, and the letter sent by the bastard Falconbridge to the Mayor and Aldermen in 1471 desiring permission to pass through the City with his Kentish followers, together with the reply to the same, there is scarcely an incident of national interest recorded in the letter-book. Even the temporary recovery of the throne by Henry VI. And the ?ight of Edward IV. Are scarcely noticed or not at all and the same may be said of the short reign of Edward V.,3 the demise of Richard III., and the accession to the throne of the House of Tudor.
