Publisher's Synopsis

Inspirational science fiction aimed at young adults but far from utopian. It is speculative fiction based on the known science of rocket propulsion in the 1930s.

By Rocket to the Moon tells the story of how Tommy Bighead, a young newspaper reporter, went to Germany, found Hans Hardt, who had crossed the ocean -- Munich to Detroit -- in two hours by rocket plane, joined his crew and helped him build his new machine (a giant rocket) for the moon trip. It then tells of Tommy's miraculous flight with Hans Hardt to the moon, what happened to them beyond the earth's atmosphere, what they found and saw on the moon and how they got back to earth.
