Publisher's Synopsis
This is the first publication in the Butterworths Court Practice Series. This single volume provides a collection of all practice directions in force in 1997, reproduced as amended, with annotations where appropriate. Until now, practice directions have not had the same level of importance in County Courts as in the High Court. Under Woolf it is intended that in future the High Court and County Courts will be governed by a unified (joint) set of court rules, forms and practice directions. It is anticipated that new directions will exist alongside present directions until ultimately replacing them.
