Publisher's Synopsis
Butter and Daren met during math class in high school, and they briefly dated. Now they bump into each other years later at a nightclub and an explosive sexual affair ensues. Daren is head over heels in love and wants to settle down with her. Unfortunately, Butter values her freedom and prefers a relationship with no strings attached. Daren tries hard to win her heart as they grow stronger, however Butter does everything in her power to sabotage the relationship just enough to keep Daren at bay without getting rid of him. Daren gets the message and the relationship ends. Stubbornly, Butter decides to move on without her true love. All hell breaks loose when she accepts the marriage proposal of a man that fails to get along with her son, emotionally abuses her, and fails to be the man she needs him to be. As Daren and Butter are forced to face the consequences of their foolish decisions, they realize their mistakes and struggle to find their way back to each other.
