Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Brown Alumni Monthly, Vol. 66: November, 1965
At present, there are six members on the Brown Admis sion Staff. There are thousands of dollars spent each year to send these representatives to every corner of the United States and parts of Canada - from Maine to Hawaii, from Toronto to Tampa - not in search of applicants per se (be assured, this is not our problem) but to seek out that one boy who is recognized in his school and his community as a top student and/or a person of ability and promise. We are seeking out that one student who will benefit from a Brown University education, and where Brown in turn Can benefit from him.
As a consequence, we, are competing directly and actively with other leading universities in the country, and we find ourselves currently turning away more capable students than we are able to accept. But the search goes on nation wide for that ideal boy.
