Publisher's Synopsis
Inspired by true events, "Broken Wings" tells the story of an American Captain of a Bomber Group based in England, who is falsely accused of taking part of a piece of fiction about him shooting down one of Luftwaffe's top fighter at twenty thousand feet above sea level, using only his sidearm to make the kill and finds himself returning home, not a war hero, but stigmatized to the point where his life falls apart - he's discharged by the army and blacklisted by the community where he lives with his family. When his two boys are being harassed at school his already fragile marriage falls apart. He finds jobs away from home waiting for an opportunity to clean his name. This comes with a letter from an old friend telling him about a salvage operation taking place on the Elbe River where the enemy fighter went down. He travels to Germany and with the help of a local free lance reporter he discovers the hard evidence that will redeem him once and for all, not without facing some serious life threats.
