Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from British Pharmacopoeia, 1867
A new arrangement of the matter has been adopted, by which the descriptions hitherto comprised under a sepa rate head of Materia Medica are included in one list with Preparations and Compounds, the whole being arranged in alphabetical order. This plan has already been adopted in several of the foreign Pharmacopoeias. It will be found to facilitate reference and to obviate an inconvenience that has been experienced from a portion of the information relating to certain medicines being contained in a different part of the work from that in which the processes for their production are described.
