Derived from the Bartholomew 1:1,000,000 European digital database, this large-format map covers the British Isles entirely. The Orkney and Shetland Islands are shown in their true position relative to mainland Britain. The Channel Islands are included in an inset. The relative importance of cities, towns and villages is demonstrated by the use of symbols and type size based on up-to-date population figures. The height of land above sea level is indicated by colour and the key to the map symbols is in four languages.
