Publisher's Synopsis
Boy Poet, the debut book of poetry from musician and songwriter A.T. Cason, expresses the personal as well as the common human experience using a freshly-original style that is thought-provoking, visually fascinating, and quite literally physically engaging as the book must be maneuvered at times to discern certain poems. This unique collection contains eclectic forms and vivid typographies that captivate the reader while exploring thematic content that connects everyday situations to the ethereal and the profound, utilizing both broad free verse narratives and more precise meters and poetic structures. The visual representation of each poem is virtually self-illustrating, lending a tangibility to the poetic content that is at once independently and altogether serious and humorous, witty and direct, personal and universal, temporal and spiritual. Individually, each poem reads as a presentation, a comment, a story all its own. Collectively, these poems cover the ground from down-to-earth, highly-relatable observations to sophisticated and mentally-stimulating commentaries. Either way, Boy Poet packs quite the punch for any reader from any walk of life.
