Publisher's Synopsis
Two federal agents are found shot dead in their car. Their prisoner has escaped. The FBI and U.S. Marshal's Service are leading the investigation, but Detective Lieutenant Kathleen DeSilva has a vested interest in the outcome. The escaped prisoner was one of hers...corrupt ex-cop Jesse Nichols.
Nichols blames Sam Laska for destroying his life and is hell-bent on hunting him down and exacting his revenge. Leaving bodies in his wake, Nichols tracks Laska and his girlfriend Marley to Chicago. With the Feds and DeSilva closing in, Nichols sets in motion his plan to draw Laska out. Laska thinks he sees through it but realizes too late that he's been outwitted. Marley is taken in a deadly confrontation, kidnapped by Nichols. Now, Laska must steel himself and use any means he can to find them. Because he will do anything to save the woman he loves. Anything.
