Publisher's Synopsis
Ava is a 3rd grade teacher who has just endured the worst year of her life. Her parents died tragically in a car crash almost a year previously and in the wake of her grief she was drawn into the clutches of a manipulative monster. She married him before realizing how abusive and controlling he was. She has just escaped their marriage a couple months previously and now plans to spend her summer vacation recovering on the familiar shores of Carlsbad State Beach. Her family used to vacation there every summer, so it is the perfect place to reconnect with her roots, herself, and find peace. What she doesn't expect to find is love.
