Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Biologia Centrali-Americana, or Contributions to the Knowledge of the Fauna and Flora of Mexico and Central America, Vol. 56: Botany, Vol. IV
Including his new species, Lecoyer records only nine, against our eleven, species. On the evidence of collectors' numbers alone, he declares (loc. Cit. P. 319) our T. Stri gz'llosum to be a mixture of T. Pubigerum and T. Hernandezii. The former is a very distinct species, of which we have examined the type specimen; and as to the latter, of which we have seen no authenticated specimens, if correctly described, it is quite different from ours.
