Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Bible History of the Old and New Testaments
The object of the present History is to facilitate the employment of this rational and effective means of religious education. God's supernatural dealings with mankind are but partially recorded in Holy Writ. The Catholic Church, in its origin and growth, in its progress and diffusion through the world from age to age, is the supplement and continuation of the Bible History, which without this would be but an unintelligible fragment. This truth the author of the present work has kept in mind, and it has been his aim to supply Catholic schools with a com plete text-book of sacred history.
