Publisher's Synopsis
Asia is a continent characterized by numerous completely different areas with respect to both the economic and the sociopolitical sphere. The enormity of this continent makes any research particularly challenging and incontestably attractive. In the context of this book, we are concentrating on Bhutan, Japan, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal and the Philippines. As the reader will notice, we are talking about six countries that certainly represent some of the literally countless different faces of Asia. Our principal objective is to provide the reader with recent and accurate information with respect to the current situation of these countries and to conclude about whether or not the thus far conducted attempts for a more promising tomorrow can indeed be characterized as successful.
