The Australian Mist is proof of the exquisite form and purpose of cats. Its somewhat sized physique has well-developed muscles that demonstrate its strength and agility. The legs of this breed end in tidy, round paws that are proportionate to the torso. The medium-length tail, which is thick at the base and tapers to a rounded tip when the cat is moving, conveys the animal's goals and attitude. One of the breed's most recognizable characteristics is its coat, which has a silky feel to it. The coat's patterns are the product of a subtle interaction between the base color and the overlaying patches, or marbles, which are highlighted in a darker hue to create the illusion of movement and depth. Because of its short coat, the breed requires little maintenance, however frequent brushing can help keep the coat shiny and minimize shedding.
