The reader is impressed by the pure and cheerfulness of the main character, Beauty, who has only three coins for the New Year's Eve. She first gives the first coin to Lida, a poor girl who needs money for New Year's Eve, then resists the temptation of food and buys firecrackers with the second coin, and the third coin brings her brother, Sheng Yu, fortune.
