Battles for Gold and Glory Civil War Skirmishes in New Mexico Territory

As a teenager growing up in New Mexico, Roberta Baxter was fascinated to find a fictional account of the Glorieta battle in her library. Her family visited the battlefield and she was hooked. She has lived near many of the places: San Augustine Pass, New Mexico; San Antonio, Texas; and Colorado. The author of 15 nonfiction books for children and young adults, she has written the book that she envisioned as a teenager about these historic battles in New Mexico Territory.
